Old East Village is a neighbourhood in the City of London Ontario seeing considerable growth and revitalization.  Just east of downtown, along Dundas Street, Old East Village is seeing a transformation by both the owners in the area as well as the city itself.

The community used to be known as a rental neighbourhood, although more recently, people have been buying up the century homes, renovating and occupying them.  The Old East Village Community Association has helped to spread information among it’s residents for planning sessions and it’s annual street party.  The City of London has implemented the Old East Village Community Improvement Plan.  The plan is to have Old East Village serve as a focal point for the surrounding community, offer a broad range of goods and services, entertainment, arts and cultural uses; some health and social services without over-concentrating such uses, build upon the heritage theme focusing on significant heritage assets and fostering a pedestrian-oriented street scape while not excluding the automobile.
